Oh wait—is that our mahjong mat in the Lake Forest Showhouse? Yes. Yes, it is.
We were honored to be part of designer Liz Sherwood’s vision for the 2025 Lake Forest Showhouse, where she created a wildly chic mahjong room that stopped visitors (and editors) in their tracks. Think rich red lacquer, glints of gold, and one very charming custom mat front and center—designed by us, with artwork by the incredibly talented Luisa Rangel de Alba of Fait à Main. (If the name sounds familiar, she’s a Goyard alum. Casual.)
The best part? Half the proceeds from each mat sold go directly to the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, the beneficiary of this year’s Showhouse. Chic and charitable. The room made such an impression, it snagged a photo in Architectural Digest’s coverage of the house—proving once again that yes, mahjong is having a moment.
The mat is available right here—and yes, you can absolutely build your entire room around it.
