Oxblood Wooden Mahjong Racks with Scalloped Pushers

A very good rack with a slightly complicated history.

Our Oxblood Wooden Mahjong Racks arrived with a finish that didn’t meet our standards, so we pulled the run and had the usable racks professionally repainted and hand-finished here in the U.S. The result is a rich, satin oxblood finish paired with our detachable scalloped pusher.

The additional hand-finishing did have one unexpected effect: the magnets are gentler than those on our standard racks. They help the pusher sit neatly against the rack, but they are not designed for the pick-it-up-and-shake-it test. Some experienced players actually prefer this lighter connection, as very strong magnets can cause a pusher to suddenly snap toward the wall of tiles during play.

What color are they? In low light they read burgundy. In bright light they are brick. The main photo is the best representative of the color unless you plan on being at the beach, then it’s going to look brick.

We planned to sell these racks for $175. Because the magnetic connection is lighter than originally intended, this limited hand-finished batch is $95.

Each set has been inspected before shipping.
