Après Mahj is Paige Spearin’s latest hand-illustrated mat for Tigre de Tartán, an alpine world populated by skiers, rabbits, tigers, chairlifts, snowy lodges and all the little dramas happening between them.
Look closely and there is something going on in every direction. The scene was drawn to be discovered from all four sides of the table.
Paige’s loose, hand-painted line gives Après Mahj the charm of an old illustrated ski map or a particularly good piece of vintage wrapping paper: funny, detailed and a little chaotic, but never so busy that it competes with the tiles.

Paige Smith Spearin is an artist specializing in fine art, illustration and textile design. She began her career at Lilly Pulitzer, where she designed prints for 16 years.
